NFL Week Two Game of The Week
Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos
It's hard to justify game of the week honors to two teams without wins under their belts, but this early season rivalry game is about as close to a must-win for each team as they come.
The Chiefs suffered a loss to the Bengals last week, and suffered a huge blow by losing Trent Green for multiple weeks with a concussion he suffered after being hit while sliding. The Broncos looked atrocious in a loss to the St. Louis Rams, and could not stop Steven Jackson on the ground. Both teams are known for their running attack, and in week one both teams did not live up to expectations. Larry Johnson was held under 100 yards for the first time in 10 games, and Denver's running back by comittee was unimpressive in the loss to the Rams.
Damon Huard will start at quarterback for the visiting Chiefs. Look for Denver to run early and often, and defend their home field. Remember, last year Denver dropped their opener in an embarassing loss to the up-and-coming Miami Dolphins, and rebounded to make it into the playoffs, beating the champion Patriots.
This game is the Sunday Night game featured on ESPN.
